Nneka Ogwumike

One nickname that has made her one of the most famous female basketball players is Fearless. She was a late bloomer, but she never gave up on the sport. In grade school, she was afraid to play basketball and didn't have any skill. Nneka became a professional basketball player in 2012. She is a "powerhouse", with incredible stamina, resilience and endurance. She is a good example of how strength can lead a team, and she uses this strength and resilience to inspire others.


Katie Douglas

American professional basketball player Katie Douglas, one of the most well-known girl basketball players, is a former shooting guard and small forward position. She was born in Indianapolis on May 7, 1979. She was a graduate of Perry Meridian High School, and Purdue University. There she played for Purdue from 1997 to 2001. In 2001, she was drafted into the WNBA by the Orlando Miracle. Later, she retired from playing in 2014.

Lisa Leslie

Lisa Leslie, one among the most well-known female professional sports athletes, is Lisa. She was born in 1972. Her father is a semi-professional basketball player, and her mother is a truck driver. Four months pregnant at the time her father left, Leslie attended Morningside High School in Inglewood, California. Her basketball career blossomed at Morningside High School. After she graduated, she signed with Los Angeles Sparks.

Seimone Augustus

Seimone Augustus, aside from her WNBA career, is one of the most prominent black athletes. Fans and media love her dedication and courage. Seimone started playing basketball at a young age. She was so good at the sport that she even appeared in an article in the sports magazine Sports Illustrated for Women. Seimone won several national championships. Kaila Charles

Maryland star Kaila Charles hails from Glenn Dale, Maryland. Eleanor Roosevelt High School was her home in Greenbelt, and she was twice on the state championship team. As a sophomore and junior, Charles earned Washington Post All-Metro honors. Charles graduated from Eleanor Roosevelt and transferred to Riverdale Baptist School, Upper Marlboro. Charles was awarded All-American honors and McDonalds All-American honors.

Brittney Griner

US female basketball star Brittney Griner was arrested on Friday after a court in Russia found her guilty of smuggling drugs. She was sentenced to nine years in prison and a fine of one million roubles. The case comes at a historic low for US-Russia relations. Joe Biden, US President of the United States, demands her release citing Griner’s Rights. She was on vacation in Russia when she was arrested and has not been in touch with her family since.
